QUALITY BUILDING SAND

Exceptionally high quality building sand, suitable for mortar, plastering or other uses. Extracted from Kirkhill Quarry, Elgin and carefully screened to ensure it meets the grading requirements of a 0/2mm fine sand. With very low moisture content, this sand is excellent value for money.

When it comes to using your building sand, a 1:4 ratio mortar mix using plasticiser is usually chosen for mixing a sand : cement mortar, for building. Kirkhill Quarry is the source of one of the highest quality building sands and coarse sands in the North of Scotland.

Within the quarry is an excellent 0/2mm sand suitable for use as a Building Sand, Fine Sand, Mortar Sand, Plastering Sand, Rendering Sand or Asphalt Sand, all compliant with BS EN 13139.

Also available is a Fine Concrete Sand which complies to BS EN 12620 The sand is favoured by many local builders and contractors for its consistency and cleanliness. Deliveries can be made in either 20 tonne or 29 tonne loads.
