Red Stag K1-40 Tack Coat

K140 creates an adhesive bond between the existing surface and the new soon to be laid surface. It is a fast-setting cationic bitumen emulsion that meets the standards of BS EN: 13808:2013. It is applied cold and provides an adhesive bond between an existing surface and any bituminous overlay. Its quick-setting nature accelerates operations and ensures excellent adherence, even in damp conditions. Using a tack coat is recommended for tasks like overlaying with hot rolled asphalt, slurry seal, or macadam, as well as for patching operations.

Application
Tack coat should be applied by hand or sprayer at a rate of 0.3 - 0.6 Litres per m2.
