DuraKerb: The Lightweight, Recycled Alternative to Concrete Kerbs

What is DuraKerb?

DuraKerb is a lightweight kerbing system made from recycled polymer, designed as an alternative to traditional concrete kerbs. It provides a familiar kerbing solution for roads, footways, housing developments, car parks and other infrastructure projects, while offering significant advantages in handling and installation.

Unlike traditional concrete kerbs, which can be extremely heavy, DuraKerb units are designed to be lightweight and easy to handle. A standard HB2 unit weighs around 5.6kg, making it considerably lighter than a typical concrete kerb. As a result, transportation, positioning and installation on site are simplified.

Lightweight. Versatile. Built to Perform.

DuraKerb isn’t just a replacement for concrete kerbing, the range has been developed specifically for the practical demands of modern construction and infrastructure projects. The range includes straight units as well as internal and external radius sections, drop kerbs, bullnose units and other accessories.

The lightweight construction also means DuraKerb units are easier to cut, move and fit on site, assisting in the efficiency of teams and reducing the reliance on heavy equipment. Proving particularly helpful on projects where access and space are limited.

Made from Recycled Materials

One of the defining features of DuraKerb is its recycled polymer construction. The current range contains 88% recycled polymer, turning recovered plastic waste into a long-lasting infrastructure product. Durakerb is also recyclable, supporting a more circular approach to construction and helping reduce reliance on traditional materials.

Proven in Real-World Applications

Although DuraKerb may be new to some contractors and customers, the product has been used in highways and infrastructure for more than 20 years. It has been developed alongside traditional kerb products and is supported by testing, technical documentation and certification for relevant applications.

DuraKerb gives you the familiar function of a kerb, but in a much lighter, recycled polymer format – making it easier to handle, install and specify across a wide range of projects.
