EZ Street Asphalt Calculator
When planning a pothole repair, it’s essential to calculate the right amount of EZ Street Asphalt to ensure a smooth and effective application. This guide will walk you through the process of determining the required material, introduce our EZ Street Calculator, and provide a downloadable Excel tool for multiple pothole repairs.
Phase 1: Calculate The Patch Volume
To calculate the volume of asphalt required for a pothole repair, measure the following dimensions:
- Length (m) – The longest side of the pothole.
- Breadth (m) – The shortest side of the pothole.
- Depth (m) – The average depth after cleaning.
Formula: Volume (m³) = Length × Breadth × Depth
Phase 2: Factor In Material Density
EZ Street Asphalt has a density of 2.15 tonnes per cubic metre. To calculate the number of tonnes required:
Formula: Tonnage (tonnes) = Volume (m³) × 2.15

For projects involving multiple potholes, download our EZ Street Multi-Pothole Calculator. This tool allows you to input measurements for multiple potholes and automatically calculates:
- Total tonnage required
- Number of 22kg bags
- Number of 20kg buckets
- Number of 850kg bulk bags
Important Considerations
1. Add a Wastage Factor
It’s recommended to add a small wastage factor (5-10%) to account for:
- Spillage during handling
- Under-measurement due to uneven pothole shapes
- Compaction allowance when compacting the material
2. Long Shelf Life of EZ Street
Unlike traditional hot asphalt, EZ Street has a long shelf life. You can store any unused material for future repairs, making it a cost-effective solution for ongoing road maintenance.
