Description

High‑Performance Structural Concrete Repair Mortar – Sika MonoTop®‑4052

Sika MonoTop®‑4052 is a one‑part, cementitious and fibre‑reinforced mortar designed for horizontal concrete repair and screed applications. With recycled supplementary cementitious materials, it's engineered for sustainability and a lower carbon footprint. It offers low shrinkage, excellent freeze‑thaw resistance, and very low crack sensitivity, even over large areas up to 300 m² without joints. Suitable for both internal and external use, it is sulphate‑resistant, low in permeability, and compatible with cathodic protection systems. The mortar is easy to apply by hand or machine, levels smoothly, and provides excellent abrasion resistance when used in conjunction with Sikafloor®‑140 W Troweling Primer. It’s EuroClass A1 fire rated and fully compliant with Class R4 of EN 1504‑3 and CT‑C60‑F8‑A9 of EN 13813—ideal for demanding structural repairs.

Recommended applications

  • Repair of spalling and damaged concrete in buildings, car park decks, bridges, dams, and marine structures
  • Structural strengthening by adding mortar to increase bearing capacity (EN 1504‑9 Principle 4, method 4.4)
  • Surface restoration to preserve or restore reinforcement passivity and cover (Principle 7, methods 7.1/7.2)
  • Horizontal screed or repair layers from 6 mm to 120 mm thickness

Key benefits

  • Contains recycled raw materials for improved sustainability and reduced carbon footprint
  • Low drying shrinkage (~600 µm/m) and low crack sensitivity, enabling application up to 300 m² without joints
  • Sulphate‑resistant and excellent freeze‑thaw durability with low permeability (~CO₂ Sd 30.8 m)
  • Contains corrosion inhibitors and is compatible with cathodic protection systems
  • Class R4 structural repair performance (EN 1504‑3) and CT‑C60‑F8‑A9 (EN 13813); EuroClass A1 fire rating
  • Fresh mortar density approx. 2.2 kg/l; compressive strength approx. 60 MPa at 28 days; flexural strength approx. 8 MPa; modulus of elasticity ≥20 GPa
  • Pot life approx. 30 minutes at +20 °C; early trowelling after approx. 3 hours; epoxy overcoating possible after 24 hours with correct primer
