The Durakerb HB2 Standard Kerb is a lightweight recycled polymer kerb designed as an alternative to traditional concrete kerbing for highway, footway and paved-area applications. Its standard HB2 half battered profile provides a familiar kerb shape for creating a clearly defined edge between roads, pavements and other surfaced areas.
Manufactured from reprocessed polymers, the Durakerb range contains 88% recycled polymer content, making it a practical choice for construction projects looking to increase the use of recycled materials. The polymer construction also makes each unit considerably lighter than a comparable traditional concrete kerb.
The certified HB2 unit weighs approximately 5.9kg, allowing individual kerbs to be lifted and manoeuvred without mechanical lifting equipment. This makes setting out and laying kerb lines easier while reducing the manual handling demands normally associated with heavy concrete kerbs.
Durakerb units have a cellular internal structure and an integrated locating system. The recessed slot of each kerb locates over the lug of the previously installed unit, helping installers maintain alignment and create a consistent kerb line.
The Durakerb HB2 has been assessed under the BBA HAPAS certification scheme for use on highways. The certified product is suitable as an alternative to concrete kerbs for new highway construction and maintenance work when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
